Why access mattered
Heritage shophouses have ornate cornices, timber shutters and delicate mouldings several storeys above a busy street. They need careful, controlled access. We used a boomlift to reach the upper façade safely. Every stage ran under a written method statement and rescue plan, which kept our crew safe and kept disruption to the street and shopfronts below to a minimum.
Scope of works
- Boomlift access to the upper façade and cornice
- Surface preparation and repainting of the walls, mouldings and window surrounds
- Refinishing the timber shutters in a colour matched to the building's restored scheme
- Safety planning, with method statements and rescue plans throughout
The result
A renewed façade that keeps the building's character, with fresh colour and protection for the years ahead.
